Rest in Peace... King McQueen!

He was a man I fell in love with so many years ago...
He was a man that gave me joy and happiness...
He was a man that made me believe that anything is possible...
He was a man I loved and cherish, even though we never met...
He was the man that made me love fashion for what it is... ART
He was the man I once wanted to be...
He was the man that created my favourite dress of all time...
He was our king, with a crown made out of lace and shiffon...
He was no other but the greatest drama queen...
He was invincible, and his legacy will always be...
And like the best he left being the best...
Long live the King! Mr. Alexander McQueen!

Music meets Fashion...Again!

It looks like Lady GaGa is responsable! The 52nd Grammy Awards were all about the girls... and all about the fashion! Everyone looked amazing (even Miley Cyrus, I have to admit)! Actually, there were too many dresses to choose from, but here I present you my top 8:

1.- Rihanna in Elie Saab Haute Couture (flawless!! and you know how much I hate her)

2.- Pink (Such a great dress... and even her perfomance's outfit was amazing)

3.- Lady GaGa in Armani Privé (you can't expect anything less from her)

4.- Katy Perry in Zac Posen (sexy, simple but great!)

5.- Kristen Bell in Etro (pretty simple but this one I really liked)

6.- Beyoncé in Armani Privé (the one from the carpet I didn't like, I loved the one from the ceremony and the Atelier Versace she wore on her performance)

7.- Jennifer Lopez in Atelier Versace (a little old, but she still looks great... loved the hair an make-up!)

8.- Britney Spears in Dolce & Gabbana (you can say anything you want... I know, she played it safe, but she still looks gorgeous! with a face like that, who needs GaGa's wardrobe??)
There were some dresses like Taylor Swift's (who I didn't count because I hate her) and Heidi Klum's (who got better after the Golden Globes) that were really close to make my top 10... but I decided not to do it...

See you at the Academy Awards!

And the Nominees are...

The 67th Golden Globe Awards took place last night, and the winners were kinda surprising... but, that's not what I wanted to write about... it's the fashion what really matters!

The biggest accesory of the night, besides the jewels, was (because of the crappy weather) the umbrellas!!

The dresses were quite interesting, it was a nice battle between the newcommers and the veterans... and the result was very even.

They were dresses we already saw on the runway, like Christina Aguilera's Versace (wich I love!) and some really cool ones.

This is my list of the best 10 dresses (in no specifical order)

1.- Julia Roberts in vintage Yves Saint Laurent

2.- Anna Paquin in a stunning Stella McCartney

3.- Cameron Díaz in a red Alexander McQueen
4.- Chloe Sevigny in Valentino (which she ruined when she got on stage for her award)
5.- Diane Kruger in Christian Lacroix
6.- Marion Cotillard in Christian Dior
7.- Drew Barrymore in Atelier Versace
8.- January Jones in Lanvin
9.- Emily Blunt in Dolce & Gabbana
10.- Kate Hudson in (a Versace/Chanel inspired) Marchesa

The dresses I hated:

Sandra Bullock in Bottega Venetta (it just looks so cheap)

Nicole Kidman in Nina Ricci (i'm sorry, it's boring)

Penelope Cruz in Armani Prive (to much of everything)

Lea Michele in Oscar de la Renta (we've seen this a lot)

Waiting for the Oscars!!!

Leasson Learned... Not!!

It seems that in the world of fashion nobody learns from mistakes... Remember the Lohan/Ungaro fiasco a few months ago?? Well, it's rumoured to be repeated...

At one time, Halston was one of the biggest names in fashion... then it closed. A while ago, it was resucitated. Nothing good came from it (poor poor sales).

Now, rumor has it that they are bringing Sarah Jessica Parker as a design consultant (yes, no joking intended).

First of all, SJP is a well known fashionista, we all love Carrie Bradshaw (one of the most fashionable characters of all time), some may consider her as a fashion icon, but everybody knows that the credit is not all hers, it belongs to Patricia Field.
Despite all of this, there are so many things to be considered to NOT give her the job, but, anyway, let's hope this is just a rumor.
UPDATE: Confirmed... It's true! :S
