Unwerth can do better...

Ellen Von Unwerth is one of my favourite photographers. Ever!!!! Why? Because she captures the most vulnerable, intimate and sensual of the people.
Her porfolio includes nudity, couture and, of course pretty faces. Everything in a very vintage aesthetic. Sometimes is the 20's, sometimes is the 40's... even the 60's...
She previously worked for every fashion magazine in the bussiness, shoot various campaigns and photographed the covers for Christina (as in Aguilera), Britney (no need for last name) and many more...
But, a few days ago I saw a very horrendous example of a photographer doing crap for money.
I'm talking about Rihanna's new single Russian Roulette's cover....
Ok, i'll have to admit... I'm so deeply in love with that effin song!! but the cover... no no no no, it's just awful. Bad outfit, bad hairstyle (I know, that's not Unwerth's fault), bad lighting, bad idea, bad bad bad... i don't know, it's just not working for me.

Linda's still got it!

Linda Evangelista shows once again why she's one of the greatest supermodels (yes! super! not everyone can be super!) of all time.
She stars on a new editorial for November W's Art Issue.
For this masterpiece, they recluted italian artist Maurizio Cattelan who created a portfolio featuring Linda (on couture, of course). "She’s a still actress,” says Cattelan of Evangelista. “At the end, she was so tuned-in that all she needed were a couple of words and she knew what we wanted "
Haha! Take that Tyra Banks!!

Details on Lambert

My favourite American Idol Adam Lambert is on the cover of the November issue of Details Mag. Not as fashionable as I tought it would be, but it's still a pretty hot photoshoot.
It's funny (and also predictable) how he's with a naked girl and still look homoerotic.

PS: I'm thinking of doing a Lambert/GaGa mash-up for Halloween...
Watch out Marc!!

Tom Ford is teaming up with long time bussiness partner Domenico de Sole. The purpose: launching his first Women's collection with his own brand.
According to de Sole "“Financing is extremely expensive right now, so if we find financing in the right situation we’ll be able to start (a women’s collection) soon. If we don’t, we may have to wait a while.”
Ford is planning on doing this for the next 30 years, so, if the $50 million dollars or more they need don't come so easily he's ok by waiting another 6 months...
The King of REAL Luxury will be back to Womenswear!!

Style.com's Top Ten Collections...

Fashion Week Season is over... Now it's time to evaluate what we'll be wearing for Spring/Summer 2010 and Style.com brings you their Top Ten Collections list...
There are some predictable and accurate choices, but some of them, i'm not so sure.
Chek it out:
1.- Balenciaga (agree!)
2.- Balmain (agree! agree! agree!)
3.- Celine (agree)
4.- Chanel (not sure...)
5.- Givenchy (totally agree!!)
6.- Lanvin (agreeeee!! loves it!!)
7.- Marc Jacobs (WTF?!)
8.- Proenza Schouler (agree!)
9.- Rodarte (agree)
10.- Versace (agree)
There's just one question i keep asking myself every single day: Why is Marc Jacobs famous?? It seems like everyone adores him, but, WHY?? I justo don't get it!! I would replace him with Burberry. THAT was a good collection!

Kanye drops out... again!

So Kanye West may be having the worst time of his life since, you know, that little thing at the VMA's.
First, everyone bashed him, including Obama, who called him a "douchebag". Later, his highly anticipated tour "The Fame Kills" with Lady GaGa was cancelled.
Now, there's something new. Since forever he's been talking everywhere about the release of his line Pastelle. Finally, pics from the collection where shown yesterday (to be fair, it wasn't anything new...) and now it seems like Pastelle will never (and I mean never) come out!
Poor Kanye. He should just stick with the music. No Fashion. No Speaking. Just Music.
Lagerfeld spoke...

Karl Lagerfeld has always been a deffender of skinny models. That's not big news. But he's made my day by his reaction to Brigitte mag using "Real" women on their covers, instead of skinny models.
“No one wants to see curvy women. You've got fat mothers with their bags of chips sitting in front of the television and saying that thin models are ugly.”
You gotta love him for that!!! I mean, even if you don't agree with him, you have to admit that he is a very funny 70-year-old man!!
You Tell 'em Grandpa!!!!

Fashionista's Tips for an It Girl...
This one is funny. Fashionista.com posted a list of tips to become an It Girl.
1.- Instead of starting your own line, be satisfied with being a "muse" for the likes of Proenza Schouler.
2.- GET A JOB. More specifically, under Carine at French Vogue.
3.- WORK YOUR PERSONAL STYLE. You never know where it might lead you (ie: styling for POP magazine and the Row)
4.- Be friend + Support emerging new designers. For example, Eddie Borgo + Joseph Altuzaria. Who Knows? You might even get to walk in their shows.
5.- Get Tommy Ton to declare you as the "single greatest moment during fashion month". We want that Givenchy head band!!

I think there's one they forgot:
6.- Be friends with the likes of Nicola Formichetti.
Slimane+Formichetti=GaGa

Lady GaGa is re-releasing her multi-platinum The Fame by the title The Fame Monster... I know, she's a regular on this blog, but what can I do?? She's Awesome!!
This time, she teamed up with long time collaborator Nicola Formichetti and fashion photographer Hedi Slimane to do the cover shoot.
I'm waiting for the complete photoshoot. Looks like a Hit.

Alexander McQueen is a Drama Queen
...in a really good way!!! "Plato's Atlantis" (his Spring/Summer 2010 show) was nothing but pure drama.

The show started with a video, featuring Raquel Zimmerman covered in snakes... it served as a first look of what was coming...
The collection. It has the McQueen distinctive silouettes, but now he embraces technology with his reptile and acquatic prints. Overall, I really really liked it!

The shoes! These shoes aren't made for walking! They are real masterpieces... so NOT for the streets!!

PS: GaGa's "Bad Romance" premiere... priceless!!
Rest in Peace...
